If I could give 0 stars Iwould. My mother in law was recently at Willowbrook recovering from pneumonia. She developed c-diff symptoms 3 weeks ago and we were not informed and they did NOTHING. This last weekend we were packing her apartment to move her closer to us. They sent her to the hospital “at her request “ and didn’t even notify us as we are her medical power of attorney. When we called to check on her! they stated she was sleeping. Which was a lie! Sunday her neighbor came and got us, she had been sent to a hospital in Washington! Still no notification from the facility. My sweet mother in law passed away from sepsis from untreated c-diff. Willowbrook is a horrible place. Please don’t send you loved ones here!!!

Hey Mikki. This is Chad. We met yesterday. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I understand your intent is to help prevent others from going through something similar, and I want to assure you that we are equally committed to preventing anyone from having a similar experience in the future. We take that responsibility very seriously. Since yesterday, we have had extensive internal discussions and have taken steps to ensure this does not happen again. All nurses have been reminded of facility policy and educated on the importance of promptly notifying family members and emergency contacts of any changes in a resident’s condition or any hospital transfers. We have also trained all staff, including CNAs, on proper phone communication procedures to ensure calls are handled appropriately and that accurate information is provided to families. We have also strengthened our bowel management protocols, which are reviewed daily in our clinical meetings. These measures ensure that residents experiencing symptoms such as loose stools are closely monitored and receive timely intervention to prevent escalation. This response is not intended to make excuses. I do want you to know, however, that our team at Willowbrook cares. We are committed to learning from this and ensuring that this doesn’t happen again. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience publicly.

I’ve lived here for 3 years. They have a good rehab program. I’ve been in an electric chair for 22 years and they are helping me get back in it.

I visited Willowbrook a few months ago with my family. The facility looked similar to other care facilities I’ve visited over the years, however, I witnessed the facility administrator interacting with several staff and residents during my visit. He impressed me with his professionalism and genuine interest in their questions and stories. Staff and residents often find themselves in stressful or uncomfortable situations in these types of facilities, so I found it refreshing that the administrator was out and about engaging with them. I heard him call several people by name, including residents, so it’s clear that he knows them.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with our administrator’s genuine care and personal connections with residents and staff.

Caring administration across the board. The administrator listens and wants to help in any way. The physical therapy department head is also phenomenal. I also really appreciate all of the thoughtful activities planned weekly.

I would give it a zero. A family member went there for physical therapy and ended up with two UTIs and a very deep bed sore! I got him out of there and straight to the hospital for treatment. All of this in a one hundred day span, and when you send them with their clothing good luck seeing them actually wear them. They are not good at doing their job. I think the facility should be closed down. I would definitely look elsewhere for help for a family member.

Extremely rude and unprofessional nurses—I don’t understand how they maintain their licenses given the way they treat their patients. We made simple requests and were met with screaming. For example, when we asked our assigned nurse to leave a note for the doctor about our loved one pocketing her food and drinks, she responded by cursing at us. If you have the misfortune of being assigned Angel V as your or your loved one’s occupational therapist, I highly recommend requesting someone else. Angel was shockingly rude to our dying family member, yelling at her and displaying aggressive behavior. She was also unprofessional and disrespectful toward our family. This behavior is unacceptable in this line of work.

My mom is in Willowbrook right now and shares what is happening daily. She has chosen to eat her meals in her room because she doesn’t want to sit in a wheelchair for over an hour while she waits for assistance back to her room. She says that the food is horrible and that the staff has been inattentive to her needs on a constant basis. She turns on her call light and waits for long periods of time to get help to use the toilet. She is there because she needs 24 hr surveillance for rehab according to her doctor. Otherwise she would go home and get better care, even without a professional staff. Not a caring environment for loved ones.

The Willowbrook staff are fantastic. Responsive, caring and pro-active. Happily placed our mother at Willowbrook twice for rehab services and she received excellent care.

Willowbrook has been such a great experience for my mother and our family. The staff enjoy their jobs and really care for their resident’s. It definitely has not been easy, going through the physical decline of my mothers health and I have had many sleepless nights in the past few months. Finally, I can have some peace of mind knowing she is being cared for. Thank you to ALL of the staff at Willowbrook for offering so much kindness to my mother and family!

The nursing staff is wonderful but your admin staff is awful. Jill, the social worker is the most uncaring person I have ever met. She does not care about patients, she only cares about money. Told my dads 100 days is up today, and if we didn’t pick him up they would charge us $9,000 a month because he is “too well” for your services. Now they are telling me I can not because your doctor didn’t ok to release him. Even talked to the Administrator and still didn’t anywhere. This place needs to get their act together.

I toured this community when I was looking into care options for a loved one who recently had a stroke and needs more care than I can give him. The nurses really seemed to care about the residents, and they have answered all my questions and is making this an easy transition for us!

My mother got sick and went to the hospital. When the social worker at the hospital told me she should go to a nursing home I was scared to put her in a “home”. But the employee’s at Willowbrook completely changed my mothers and my mind. They were wonderful and true heros during this COVID time. If you are put in a similar situation like our family was then I would fully recommend this place.
